Windows 7 compatability problems.

Postby rancidguy » 10 Nov 2009 10:49

Well, I've done a lot of searching around, seems that people are able to use wireshark on windows 7. I am using win7 professional, and every time I launch the program, it starts to load then exits. This is the output of event viewer:

Faulting application name: wireshark.exe, version: 1.3.1.30724, time stamp: 0x4ae64ed2
Faulting module name: MSVCR90.dll, version: 9.0.30729.4926, time stamp: 0x4a1743c1
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0003bb6e
Faulting process id: 0xa30
Faulting application start time: 0x01ca61e169c40914
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Wireshark\wireshark.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.4926_none_508ed732bcbc0e5a\MSVCR90.dll
Report Id: a88714f5-cdd4-11de-bc33-00219be8a028

Clearly, as you can tell, I installed the development version because that's what people said ran on win 7. Help??
