Can you sleep/acknowledge a request by responding to nagios via e-mail with a command.

I’ve often thought about doing something like this with SMS, i.e. send an ACKNOWLEDGE text back to our server and use cron and some scripted wizardry to watch the inbound sms directory and submit the appropriate acknowledgement via ‘external commands’, that way the on-call guys don’t have to get out of bed and fire up the laptop every time it goes off…
But then I think maybe A) life is too short, and B) well, the guys get paid to get up in the middle of the night and do that anyway so they’d probably get annoyed that I cost them $$$ overtime :lol:
