Cannot authenticate (nagios not Apache)

Hi,

I configured the authentication a described in the manual. But after restarting nagios apace asks me for my user and pass. But nagios tells me there is no user logged in the only way to give view right is to tell him there is a default user. What can i do? I need nagios authentication (Customers can log in to nagios server)

have you define a user in cgi.cfg? Or have you add a user with htpasswd?

I have made the user with htpasswd and in the cgi there are also the same users defined.

problem solved i made the .htaccess file in the HTML root folder not in the CGI dir. tested and ok.
