check_nrpe cannot compile

Hello, I am trying to follow the NRPE installation and stuck at a point where I am trying to run ./configure from the nrpe-2.8 directory. When I run that command, it goes through some checks but stops at

checking for SSL…configure: error: cannot find ssl libraries

Because of this I think i am unable to run make all or make install-plugin command which are next.

Please help.

You should install just a plugin in nagios system and whole nrpe in the system you would like to monitor using nagios.

DId you do this correctly?
