check_snmp or check_ups?

Hi all. I’m attempting to monitor some APC UPS devices on Nagios 3.0.6. I have a few questions…

Is it easier to monitor them via check_snmp or check_ups or check_snmp_apcups?

Is there a guide for the syntax and oids? I’m looking to monitor a few things: battery temperature, battery life, whether batteries need to be replaced, voltage, etc.

i don’t know what the different plugins do… i think it’s up to you and your needs to check the different workings of the different plugins… probably check_snmp is more generic while the others have something more but i suspect they base on check_snmp somehow… :slight_smile:
