check_snmp with negative values

Hi!

In fact, your problem comes from the fact that check_snmp recognizes the “-20:5” as a new argument (the “-” sign signifies that a new argument is coming).

I’ve tried to escape this character (with \ and /), but none of these work …

So you could either find an escape character.
Or, another way would be to write a small script that will call snmpget and parse the results

Thank you for the reply.

I’m going to try and find the right escape character, and see if that works.

Did anyone every find a solution for this? I’m having the same issue.
