Newbie to Nagios, I am…

Redhat OS 4.7
nagios 3.x

when I add a command in the Servername.cfg file on the Server and restart nagios, I get Command ‘check_stat.sh’ not defined, for example…

Like I said, I’m a newbie to Nagios, but this is getting frustrating… I’ve looked in all the doc.s for some explanation and googled it, to no avail.

Any pointers would be helpful…

servername.cfg? where did you get that filename?
what do you mean by ADDING A COMMAND?
are you defining a SERVICE check?

defining a check requires to define a command too. This is probably what you have NOT done.

have a look at how the default services work.
