Connection refused by host Error

I have this one host that gives this error on serveral of the services. Any ideas as to why this might be happening? I have checked config files, and permissions with other hosts and cannot find the problem.

The services that get these errors are:
local users, mysql, server load, total processes and the disk space ones.

I also get CRITICAL - Plugin timed out after 10 seconds on dns but the server works fine.

Any ideas or suggestions on this issue would be greatly appreciated

Those are local checks, so you must be running nrpe or nsca with it? try using the ip addy instead of a hostname.
