How to start configuring nagios in debianserver

i have installed nagios core 3.2.2 on my dibian server but since i am new to nagios i need help on configuring nagios to monitor my network printer and any thing that nagios can do
so in order to do that i need help .so can any one tell me how to get start or direct me to the right position like directing me to the right document on how to configure nagios on debian server
please this will mean a lot to me thank you.
