How to Tell Install Path?

Hi there

I’m a Ubuntu Noob who’s trying to upgrade Nagios. How do I tell the original prefix path that was used to install the existing version?

.cfgs are in /etc/nagios
plugins-auto.cfg is in /var/cache/nagios

From what I’ve read, I basically backup the .cfgs, install the new version, then replace the .cfgs, but I want to make sure I install to the same path.

Cheers
Skaffen

due to your first install, being an install that is NOT from source, I have no way of knowing.
If you install from source, you can tell configure where you want things.
So, if you want, remove your Ubuntu insalled files, and install from source. Just keep your config files, backed up somewhere.

Hey Skaffen,
I’m using Ubuntu 5.04 running Nagios 2.0b4. The default install path for me was /usr/local/nagios if that helps you out.
