Does anyone know if a plugin has been developed to monitor a HVAC system. I have a server that monitors all the air conditioning systems in my building. This server monitors the temperature, the humidity, the airflow. It also produces alerts if it perceives that any of the HVAC system is about to have a failure. I was hoping to tie this system into my nagios system. Aditionally, I am also looking for a plugin to monitor my generators. It would be nice to know that these systems are monitors these systems also.

SEC (Simple Event Correlator?) might be able to help you here.

There was a write up about it in SysAdmin magazine a while back.

You should be able to use Yahoo to find it.

Does the device output temp numbers that is available to a computer? IP addy? Use check_snmp
