I am running Apache Tomcat on a Windows 2003 server and using Nagios to monitor the Service. The issue I ran into with this is that the Web Server actually went down but the Tomcat service was still up so Nagios reported no problem.
I am looking for another way to monitor this other than just the service. Is there a way I could configure Nagios to maybe ping the Web server using the port number or something like that? Has anyone ran into this issue and found a way to resolve it?
