Nagios does not recognize new hosts added in config file

I am not able to get nagios to look for new hosts that I added in the minimal.cfg file?

Ne ideas, how I can solve this problem

any changes to any of the .cfg files will require you to restart nagios.

Jak is right you need to restart nagios. Verification of nagios cfg (with the -v opton) is a good habit :wink: before a restart. Goodluck.
