I was wondering if you could help me shed some light on this Nagios check.
We have a linux server connected to an adsl modem. Nagios checks the ppp interface via “ifoperstatus” .
This check alarms quite a lot with the Warning:
“Interface ppp11 (index 27) is administratively down.”
However, this interface has not been shut on the server ie. (ifdown ppp11) .
I’m not sure how too clear this alarm, ifup ppp11 doesnt seem to do the trick.
The line definately is up.
Any thoughts?
