i use text files and don’t loose status information while restarting… not even if i stop and start… happened today but as usual my fault (partition full) 
did you set a status file? (i’m quite sure this worked on 1.2 too… )

Sorry, Got mixed up.
When I restart Nagios, and get an availibilty report, for the last 24 hours for exmple, I get “undetermined”. Will this still happen with status data in MySQL? Is there a way around this?
Read the setting in nagios.cfg. Retention I think is the one that you want.
