Nagios sends mail notification to "$@hostname"

Hello all,

i am new to nagios so please be kind .

i have a strange issue,

i have a running instance of nagios (latest versions), it monitors 6 hosts and 26 services, and when a host/service fails it send email notification to a few users. this is ok, additionally it tries to send email notification to the email address “[email protected]” and of course this fails because the user does not exist,

i searched the configuration file and the database and i do not find that setting.

i would appreciate any information that can lead to solving this situation.

some additional info.

look at the notifications page on the nagios interface, is there a notfication listed for that user?

Yes -> there’s something in the Nagios config…
No -> there’s something in the postfix/mail config generating that address…
