Nagios to SQL dump / export?

Hi,

i am new to Nagios and just finished installing Nagios Core 3.2.3. I am now wondering if it is possible to export the ‘Current Status’ tables for hosts and services in a SQL database. Or does Nagios save these status informations in a db anyways?

nagios in itself doesn’t do it as far as i know… have a look at nagiosexchange or google for some sort of plugin or external component… shouldn’t be too difficult to export that data.
