Have installed Nagios3 on my Debian Etch server using aptitude, because there was no reference to Debian in the quick install guide.
Having problems loading the localhost/nagios page? Can I utilise the ubuntu guide to complete installation.
Nagios has installed into /etc/nagios3 and there is no file/directory called /usr/local/nagios/bin, when I carry out a system check?
User and Group for Nagios have been created.
Do I still have to carry out the make install etc within /etc/nagios3 directory to complete installation into the correct default places?
Any comments greatly appreciated.
Ah am making some progress.
Nagios3 is installed and I have got the login screen to come up, but just 1 quick question,
Because of the way I have installed nagios it has not installed to the default directories as in the ubuntu TUT. My install is in /etc/nagios3 etc etc.
Can I substitute the following from the quick instal guide:
htpasswd -c /usr/local/nagios/etc/htpasswd.users nagiosadmin with
htpasswd -c /etc/nagios3/htpasswd.users nagiosadmin
Just checking, because I think this is the only bit which is stopping nagios from loading, because I haven’t set ht access
solved, it is installed and working, just had to alter/amend some of the instructions in the quick ref guide, and enter the correct url to find it.
