Where can I get a list of non-status information? I’m trying to decide if I want to retain non-status info between restarts.
I can’t seem to find the Variable that you are setting. what file, what Variable name?

That’s a good question. You can get a little bit out of:
nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/1_0/xdata-db.html
Which was nagios v1.0 database support. But non-status info is kinda like what it says, anything that doesn’t have to do with the current status, but I can’t find it in black and white.
But perhaps if you think of it like this. You don’t want to have to input things like comments, or whether or not you have something disabled on purpose, etc. So, bottom line, it’s well worth the extra few seconds it will take nagios to shutdown/startup.
