Not receiving notifications HELP!

I’m new to Linux and Nagios, so any help is greatly appriciated. I’ve installed and confiured Nagios 3.0rc2 on Fedora 8 with the Nagios Alert Emailer from Nagios Exchange, Configured all my hosts abd services and everything seems to be working as it should. But I’m not receiving any notifications when something goes down. I can go to a host on the Nagios website interface and manually “Send custom host notification” and it comes through fine. I’m not sure what to look at or for to resolve the issue.

Did it work before you’ve installed Alert Emailer?
Check if you have disabled/enabled notifications in you host and service definitions in .cfg files. Check the log file for possible errors.
