NRPE for HP-UX

Hi,

I’ve installed nrpe via the sw depot system on HP-UX 11i v1 , I’ve got this package from nagiosexchange.org. All seems to work ok inside that host, however when i try to connect to it via check_nrpe (version 2) i get the following line:

./check_nrpe -H a500desa -c check_load

CHECK_NRPE: Socket timeout after 10 seconds.

From the HP-UX host i can see the nrpe demon listening and that the connection starts and finishes inmediatly.

Did anyone experience problems with this?

Should i install the nrpe from sources?

Any help is welcome.

Looks like you can’t resolve the hostname. Try using an ip instead.

I would definitely go with installing from source. Always a good idea.

But there’s probably a reason this isn’t working. Like, NRPE isn’t actually running on the remote host, for example.
