Perl setup for newbie

Hi

For starters I am a complete Linux newbie

I have a Ubuntu 11.10 desktop setup with Nagios core 3.3.1 installed

It is currently monitoring around 30 server with the check_openmanage plugin.
However I want to start to use the check_apcupsd perl script to monitor our ups. However I am getting the following error
return code of 127 is out of bounds - plugin may be missing

Please can someone help, I think I am going to need help from the point of installing the perl interpreter forwards and what configuration is needed after that.

I think I am nearly there as the dashboard is giving me this error, guess I just need to tell nagios whereabouts the plugin is installed

Thanks

The plugin needs to be in the /usr/local/nagios/libexec directory. Have you put a copy of the perl executable in there? It needs to be, or you need to tell Nagios where it is. It is easier just to copy it into the libexec directory. I hope I am not over simplifying this for you.
