Reboot config error

hi im total newb to nagios and can’t seem to get some info as to why the nagios keeps giving config error

i try to run usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg but nothing and thats because the directorys don’t exist

when i run this is says -v command not found
have tried -v /etc/nagios/nagios.cfg

my setup is in /etc/nagios/nagios.cfg

i would be extremely gratefull for some help gettting lost by the minute

my bad got it to it through sh -x /etc/init.d/nagios start

then found that there was host in minimal.cfg stopping nagios

question?

How would i add extra host(server to monitor?) to nagios
