Is there a way to Test an alert trigger so that you can test functions like email etc. Without having to affect the host that is being monitored. The operative work here being TEST. Alot of monitoring software has some sort of test functionality so that you can verify settings prior to “going live” with the software. I’m certain Nagios has a function that will allow this, but I cannot seem to find it.
