Using Check_ntp plugin, help needed!

Hi folks,

We been having a lot of NTP sync issues, so I am using check_ntp plugin from Nagios.

I am using Nagios 1.1 right now

I am using the check_ntp on a number of application servers down at a colo. The weird thing is, only 2 of the 5 servers are having no problems at reporting ntp, but the other three are,

It is reporting the following:

NTP CRITICAL: No suitable peer server found - Server for ntp probably down

Can anyone please help me on this?

looks like there’s no NTP server answering… possibly a firewall problem? IS the NTP server actually running?

Chances are your servers are using internet NTP servers.

Can you check what hostnames are being queried for NTP?
