I just wanted to know if I could monitor different networks on my own nagios server? say like I want to monitor a business network with my nagios server can I do that from home?
if you have a big enough hole in the firewalls. 
yes, it can by perfomring checks via ssh, or using a remote server to execute the checks and return the results to your main server.
