check_radius => how to compile it?

#1

Hi!

as the title suggests: how to compile this ?
I have downloaded and installed radiusclient (the latest version)…
And now, I’m stuck; I’ve tried a lot of things (I won’t say everything, cause obviously I haven’t found it).

Can you help me ?
ie:
what’s the correct ./configure command line for the nagios plugins?
how to link the librarires, exec, includes of the radiusclient, so that configure can recognize I have the radius client ?

(and well: why does it keep telling me:
checking for rc_read_config in -lradiusclient… no
configure: WARNING: Skipping radius plugin
configure: WARNING: install radius libs to compile this plugin (see REQUIREMENTS).
)

thanks a lot! I’m getting fed up with this compilation

Hi Loose

Have you installed radiusclient-devel-x.y.z???

[blockquote][[email protected] nagios-plugins-1.4.11]# cat REQUIREMENTS

check_radius:
- Requires the radiusclient library available from
ftp://ftp.cityline.net/pub/radiusclient/
RPM (rpmfind): radiusclient 0.3.2, radiusclient-devel-0.3.2
- Alternatively radiusclient-ng can be used:
developer.berlios.de/projects/radiusclient-ng/
[/blockquote]

I’ve installed ftp://ftp.cityline.net/pub/radiusclient … 3.2.tar.gz (the compilation was OK).
but I didn’t install the radiusclient-devel, as it was not on the ftp server …

is there another file/source for the devel ? or is it included in the radiusclient-0.3.2.tar.gz ?

thanks for the answer

It’s a seperate thingamajig to install…

Easiest way would be to use a package manager to get it, something like yum or apt, else have a look and see if you can find something close to your distro one one of them rmp repository search site jobbies, like
dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/radiusclient/
rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/searc … ient-devel
or
rpm.pbone.net/
(can’t link the search results in with this one, ul have 2 type it urself!)

Once that’s installed you should be good to go. Can’t see anything command-line wise in the configure script that relates to any further tweaking anyhow.

Cheers
