I have a nagios 2x server setup on one side of a firewall. I want to use one server on the other side of the firewall to monitor all the devices on its side of the firewall and report back to the main Nagios server. I want to limit the number of ports on the firewall to one.
Do I use NRPE or NSCA ? And is there an example of the commands I would need to execute on both the Nagios managment server and the other server?
I really dont need to do much on the other side of the firewall just ping http checks external checks.
