I have nagios-3.2.0-1.el5.rf installed via RPM from the CentOS repo.
When I click on a host and then “View Alert History For This Host”, I get:
Error: Cannot open log file ‘/var/log/nagios/nagios.log’ for reading!
But…
[joliver@mda-services4 ~]$ ls -l /var/log/nagios/nagios.log
-rw-rw-r-- 1 nagios nagios 7312 Nov 28 11:47 /var/log/nagios/nagios.log
I checked the audit.log too (My motto: Always Blame SELinux!), but that isn’t it, either. So… why can’t nagios read it’s own log file?
I also checked permissions on /var/log/nagios and /var/log Both are correct.
