Error: Could not open CGI config file 'prefix/etc/cgi.cf

I get the error in the subject when I click any cgi except home and documentation.
I’m running nagios 1.4 on solaris 9
My cgi.cfg is in /usr/local/nagios/etc
permissions for cgi.cfg are nagios nagios -rw-rw-r–
I’m logging in with user nagios

I don’t know what else to try and would appreciate help.

Donot worry about it.
It seems you have just run the source code or rpms.
After you configure nagios all the information will be available.

are you sure you used the correct configure parameter?
or did you run it with --prefix=prefix ? it shouldn’t have installed in /usr/local/nagios i think but it looks strange anyway.
