Was wondering if anyone knew or had modified nagios to allow you to exclude a host from a group in the services file?

What do you mean by excluding a host from a group? Also what kind of group are you referring to?
Define a hostgroup and put all of the hosts that you want in that group. Of course, you would exclude that one host from that group.
