Log files charset

File /var/log/vsftpd.log contains file entries with the name in greek language.

This is what I get:

Did you ever get this sorted out? Figure out what caused it?

No solution until now.
Names of paths are in Greek language.
It is clearly a charset problem, probably in vsftpd source.
I think it is not to difficult to reproduce the problem.
Just FTP share a non-english directory or file and try to access it.
In the vsftpd log it will appear with ???
