Nagcon not showing host

I am using a console monitor called nagcon. It uses the status.dat file give a text readout from Nagios. It is working well for all of my services, however, I cannot figure out how to get it to show my hosts? I should show 1125 host being monitored, however, I am showing "down:0 unreachable:0 pending:0 up:0’ Any ideas on how to fix this?

Make sure you tell nagcon what Nagios version you’re using.

how can i tell which version i am running to nagcon and is it compatible with nagios version 3 if it is how can i configure it or if not then what shall i do
