Nagios ervice starting problem

Hello,

I have configured nagios. When I am trying to restart nagios service it gives me this error.

Error: Could not find any host matching 'gserve’
Error: Could not expand hostgroups and/or hosts specified in service (config file ‘/usr/local/nagios/etc/services.cfg’, starting on line 21)

Please let me know how can resolve this issue?

I have installed nagios-2.0b2

you defined a service for a host which isn’t defined in the configuration files.

Nagios can’t find a host definition for server “gserve”

Ok but are you talking about nagios.cfg ?and what configuration should I do?

I could manage to resolve this issue but not one more problem is that. I am getting an error:

Total Warnings: 1
Total Errors: 10

***> One or more problems was encountered while running the pre-flight check…

 Check your configuration file(s) to ensure that they contain valid
 directives and data defintions.  If you are upgrading from a previous
 version of Nagios, you should be aware that some variables/definitions
 may have been removed or modified in this version.  Make sure to read
 the HTML documentation regarding the config files, as well as the
 'Whats New' section to find out what has changed.

Will you let me know where should I check for it?

read all what it outputs you shoul d find a line which says ERROR: and so on…

By the way a god reading of the documentation about how the configuration files work could help you too :slight_smile:
