I installed Nagios and plugins also by going through the documentation. I installed Nagios 2.10 and Nagios Plugins 1.4.11
But, the problem is when i tried to run nagios in debug mode using the command /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios
Check your command line syntax. It should be:
/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios
I tried that also…but same result
I would check permissions on /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log. On my system the owner is set to nagios and the permissions are set to rwrr.
I would also check permissions on your config files including your main one. I’ve never had
/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
fail to open the main cfg before.
