I am having problem getting NDOUTILS to compile properly and am getting the following error mesage
when I run make.
gcc -O0 -g -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -o file2sock file2sock.c io.o utils.o -lz -lm -lnsl
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lz
My system particulars are:
Linux WS4 32 bit kernel: 2.6.9-42.0.10.ELsmp
MySQLRPM’s installed: MySQL-client-community-5.0.45-0.rhel4
MySQL-server-community-5.0.45-0.rhel4
MySQL-devel-community-5.0.45-0.rhel4
MySQL-shared-community-5.0.45-0.rhel4
I am trying to integrate with MySQL database. I have ran the configure and get the following output:

Type ‘make’ to compile the NDO utilities
I have also tried use the compiler flag “.–with-mysql-lib=/usr/lib/mysql”, but to no avail. I keep getting the make error
related to the unfound “-lz” for filesock. Can anyone offer as to what be the issue.
Thanks!
