Notifcations losing f,t,n etc characters

Hi all - new here.

Running nagios 1.2 on Debian 3.0. I realised that I was not getting the body of notifications since the guy that set it up had set the wrong path to ‘echo’, which is now sorted.

But I am getting notifications where the content of the $OUTPUT$ macro has dropped various letters, like this:

"Additional Info:

CRITICAL - Plugi imed ou ae 10 secods"

I tried setting a comment with 7 f characters in the string ffffff7 which should have produced:

"Additional Info:

test stopped fffffff7"

and got this:

"Additional Info:

es sop 7"

Any ideas, anyone?

It’s possible, that since you have changed the system files, that you need to compile/install nagios again.
