I was wondering how I can produce reports on outages and causes. I’m thinking that what would be most useful would be for example, to be able to spit out a summary of all outages last month including their duration and comments from acknowledgements. So like
myhost:web: CRITICAL 2 hr, Acknowledged by Person “Server burst into flames, replacing”
There’s enough services that just a standard dump of the availability reports doesn’t give me a lot of useful information, but it does give me the overall uptime / downtime for each host or service.
I don’t know if there’s something stock or some good plugins to look at or really what path other users have followed to get the kind of roll-up reports that can be presented to superiors.
