I’m wanting to install the latest Nagios version 3 on the same system I’m running Nagios 2 on. I cant afford any down time, so i need to run both at the same time until I get everything working in nagios 3. Is this possible. anyone have any directions as to the best way to do this,?

ouch… i’d rather make a small Virtual machine on another computer cehck the config files against a nagios 3 install and when they work upgrade the live system.
Again, i would NOT do it on the production machine…
Biggest problem is some macros which changed name so it’s really mostly a question of playing “find and replace” in some text editor, obviously custmoizations come into play as well, but on the 2->3 jump it was mainly some macros in the config files.
