I need to send e-mail notifications from nagios once the service being monitored goes up or down. I could not find anywhere how to specify the SMTP host address. MY SMTP server is present in a remote location in our netwro.
Is there any way I can specify my SMTP host address in any of the config files?
Things such as the SMTP configuration are done outside of nagios due to the many different flavours of notification products available for use, be they email, pager, SMS etc - you need to configure your own package as appropriate and then define the email notifications to suit your particular setup.
