Is there a way to configure nagios to sort the “service” column numerically instead of alphabetically?
I have service configs for every interface on my switches. The problem is fa0_10 sorts higher in the list than fa0_2. I would rather the interfaces be sorted in numeric order instead of jumping around.

This method isn’t pretty, but it gets the job done…
If you add a number to the beginning of the service/host name, it’ll sort by that first number. I have a few hundred devices that I monitor so I do it with hostgroups in order to separate device type hostgroups from location hostgroups. You could probably do the same thing by using servicegroups.
