Verifying Fedora 8 install RPM via YUM

I recently set up a Fedora 8 box with the hopes of running Nagios.

I installed nagios 2.010 via yum.

It “appeared” to install ok, however in looking at the documentation for 2.010.

None of the files were installed in locations consistent with the documentation.

is this a known issue or should I uninstall simply uninstall the rpms and install the tarballs

yes, uninstall the rpm and install via source code and follow the nagios doc.
RPM’s usually do install to a different location than a source install.
